Hi Hsin,
In some of the early AV4 models (delivered 2017) I had recurring mysterious
acquisition failures that, after much agonizing and replacement of parts
(including the aqs backplane!) was traced to the router, and the problem was
solved with a firmware update. Thus, my mind tilts towards this explanation,
particularly given that your more recent problem appears to fundamentally
be a TCP timeout error.
I am also mystified by the ethernet problem but this may be an OS issue --
I have noticed on all Linux TS implementations at my facility that if the
computer cannot interface with the local network it will also fail to connect
to the spectrometer (AVIII and AV4i) even though the latter connection is a
direct plug and makes no use of the network. I do not recall encountering this
problem on WinX implementations. In your case, if you have crossmounted your
spectrometers to each other or are using a network directory as your primary
data repository it may also be contributing to the issue.
In any event, I suspect your underlying problem is related to the spectrometer's
router and this should be the next focus of diagnostic efforts.
