I think the ethernet part of the issue is probably solved. John Hardwood
(Purdue) sent me a note alerting me of the CodeMeter server list setting: mine
was set to automatic search (255.255.255.255) rather than localhost. I have
not had time to verify what really happens after the change. I have been
troubleshooting so much that is a detail I was a little fuzzy about. But that
seems like a common sense answer. It is though difficult to understand why it
was ever left to automatic search by Bruker.
Otherwise, I am in a greater mess right now. I updated the router firmware.
My router firmware was 1.0.0.26, oddly in the cisco login when I clicked the
update it came up with nothing. But Bruker had told me there is 1.0.0.29, so
I updated to that. Afterwards initially all spectrometer related things are
missing. I was reminded that 'cf' is needed. I did 'cf' half a dozen times
or more, I can see TRX connection problems came up randomly, and are probably not
solved by the routine firemware. But the greater mess is in the wiring diagram.
The cf came up with wire0.png, which I thought was nonsensical. I played with it
and the best I can come up was wire1.png. I did not like the crossing between
REC1 and REC2. But the other choice was not accepted. In the expinstall or in
the experiment, edsp is now really a mess (wiring2.png).
My college does not allow Teamviewer. I thought I would invite Bruker to join
me on a zoom meeting, and at least I can share the screen, and talk separately on the
phone. It turns out it is now impossible to do ZOOM on CentOS 7.
