Hi,
Hoping you all don't mind helping us out trying to resurrect an old VNMRS
console to replace a misbehaving MR400 spectrometer. I have updated
the software on the host computer to the VNMRS version. I am able to
successfully run setacq. I can ping all of the controller cards from
host computer. (master1, ddr1, rf1, rf2, lock1, pfg1). However,
"su" is not functioning properly.
At first I was getting errors associated with rf3 and rf4. I have the config
set to a 2 channel system, however the control cards were active. When
I hit stop then I would get and "Acode" error. I removed the ethernet
lines to those controller cards, power cycled the console and re-ran
setacq. In this state the errors about rf3 and rf4 have gone away.
In fact there are no errors given. Upon running 'su', all the yellow
lights on the controller cards go dark and the spectrometer just stays in
that state for hours or I hit the stop button.
I've since completely removed the 3rd and 4th RF controller cards as well as
the extra two XMTR boards. No change in behavior. Does anyone
have any suggestions on what is going wrong and what I can do to recover this?
I believe that I've covered the hardware changes properly to convert this
from a 500 MHz console into a 400 MHz one. I swapped the Lock DEC
Diplexer and 2H filter. I've installed the two preamps from the the MR400
along with directional couplers, and filters. The RF amps cover the
appropriate frequency ranges. I had to install the shim power supply
from the MR400 to run the RT shims in the magnet.
Thank you,
Brian
