Hi Brian,

Just a quick 2c reply here:

  * you may wish to double-check the power supply voltage test points; low
voltages can lead to issues at the controller boards. (from my experience
at least ; ) )
  * I don't have an MR400, but I do have the DD2 and VnmrS consoles equivalents;
I think the power supplies may be the same. IIRC, 3.3V and 5.0V are used to power
the controller boards on the VnmrS and DD2 consoles. If one or both voltages are
low, then you'll have issues with the boards, including but not limited Acode-related
issues. Not saying this is the issue in your case, but it could be a contributing
factor.

  * note: if the test point voltages are low, then the voltages can be
bumped up via the corresponding pots located behind the front grille of the
power supply (located at the front / bottom left of a VnmrS and DD2 console).
I've had success with this in the past and managed to get the controllers
working properly after bumping low power supply voltages. For this, I needed
a long / thin flat head and flashlight to get at the pots and see what I
was doing. A cell phone flashlight app worked well for this; propping the
cell on the floor and leaning it upright against the power supply was the
perfect height to shine light into the front grille. I then hooked up a
multimeter to the relevant test points while adjusting the pot so that I
could observe the changes (pls be careful with this - safety first). I
think the tolerances on our supplies were 0% to +5% (you should double check
that with your console tho' ) ). I aimed for ~ +1% above the set point.
Pls be careful with this.
  * finally, some power-supply troubleshooting advice I received from Agilent
a little while ago; on a DD2 / VnmrS, you can open up the side panel of the
console to get at the wiring harness (i.e. from power supply --> console
components). Try re-seating / cleaning those connections . . . apparently
this can be the source of power supply issues as these wires spend significant
time cramped up against interior console chassis panel.

  * I also wonder if you need to run a 'setacq' after making the board swaps?

again - just my 2c based on what has worked for us in the past.

cheerios,
Darcy
