Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice. We are running a Bruker 500 MHz instrument
about 25 years old. The ultrashield magnet has been recently re-sealed and
is performing well, But the Avance 500 console is nearing the term of it's
natural life, particularly with respect to amplifiers.

One of the amplifiers in the our current console is a BLAX300RS (6-242MHz),
part# W1301840/1225 type 04.
Keen readers of this listserv may have noted that similar amplifiers have
been recently offered for interested parties: BLAX300RS (6-242MHz), part#
W1301840/0858 type 03

The part numbers are the same (I don't know whether 1225 and 0858 indicate
separate parts or serial numbers). The two "types" are superficially similar,
although I assume that type 03 precedes type 04. My question is this: does
anyone know to what extent these parts might be interchangeable, and is the
type 03 a useful backup against the inevitable demise of our current (type 4)
amplifier.

Any advice gratefully accepted. Thank you

James
