W1301840 is the part number the number after the slash is the serial number
and the type is the engineering change level. MY guess is that the change
between 03 and 04 would not cause compatibility issues.

The part numbers are the same (I don't know whether 1225 and 0858 indicate
separate parts or serial numbers). The two "types" are superficially
similar, although I assume that type 03 precedes type 04. My question
is this: does anyone know to what extent these parts might be interchangeable,
and is the type 03 a useful backup against the inevitable demise of our current
(type 4) amplifier.
