The main reason I don't want to use Windows is that I will have zero control.
IT will do everything and I am afraid of the down time this will cause. This
does mean we are our own IT but we have been doing our own IT since the
Sun and SGI days.
We are wondering if some of our issues are just Alma or Linux in general? We
have had more issues since switching to Alma than with CentOS but I have not
tried to move any systems off of Alma yet. This is something we have considered
because we have gotten Topspin to run on other flavors, before Bruker officially
went to Alma.
Our teaching labs have the Fourier 80's that run windows and they have had
issues with IT and doing updates to windows and Topspin.
