I echo Matthias's comments. I too prefer stainless, but I have also had
no issues with aluminum parts.
I will also add that as far as the clamps go, whether you use aluminum or
stainless steel, there will be some parts parts to the clamp that will be
magnetic. Usually the screw thread, and possibly the nut and washer as well.
This shouldn't pose a problem for normal operation since the amount of
magnetic material is quite small, and once installed you won't be moving it
around while experiments are running. But be mindful of that when you
install/remove the clamp.
