Hello,
Our Varian 400MR running VnmrJ 4.2 has been having intermittent errors. After
the study is submitted, the autosampler successfully retrieves the ejected
placeholder sample, returns it to the tray, picks up the new sample, and
inserts the new sample into the magnet. At this point, before the ProTune
window appears, the tray position on the screen turns red and the analysis
stops. Right clicking on the tray position and selecting Study Event List
shows the attached document with the error “Failed to insert sample into
the magnet,” even though the sample has certainly been inserted.
Sometimes choosing the Tools > Sample in Magnet… function to eject the
errored sample and return the placeholder sample to the magnet, and then
choosing Automation > New Automation [autodir] > New Automation Run, and
starting over with a new study is enough to overcome the error. Other times it’s
necessary to close VnmrJ completely and use the su acqproc command in the
linux terminal to stop and restart acquisition processes to overcome the
error.

I haven't tried this but you may be able to do it in two steps: firstly,
convert your Neo-format into AMX-format with "convdta" (in TopSpin);
secondly, read your AMX-format with "convertbru" (in VNMR).
