Hi Samrat,
Topspin has three depictions of the status of the spinner/sample in the
status bar with respect to the spinner/sample position. One is the with a
question mark, one is the spinner/sample with a profile of a hand picking
it up from the top of the stack and the other is the spinner/sample loaded
into the coil. We now have SampleCases on both systems and I am assuming
that the hand picking it up would be momentarily displayed meaning that the
detector at the upper end of the barrel detects the rotor/sample but I have
never watched that symbol since ours has always worked.
Which depiction do you see when it refused to load a spinner?
Does the sample changer time out and return the rotor or does it park there
with the air on?
My understanding of how the rotor's are detected in the lower end of the
barrel is that Bruker momentarily rotates the sample to detect the light to
dark transition. I think they use the sample optical detection at the top
of the barrel but I don't know if that location needs the light to dark
transition for detection?
Regards,
Joe
