Hi all,
I would recommend manually checking the sample release. If you use the
touchscreen you should be able to log in to service mode (password service)
and manually operate the pneumatic doodads. You can open the clamp to
take the carousel off, and you should be able to run the sample release in
and out and make sure that the status changes from "open" to "closed" and
visually make sure that it looks normal as it goes in and out. I believe
there are some people who have found that these will start to stick
after a while.
Also have a look at the barcodes on your cassette--sometimes if those get
dirty the cassette position doesn't get detected properly and it doesn't line
up correctly for the sample release. If this is the case you can clean
it off with a damp cloth--I don't know if there are any safe solvents and
you don't want to clean the barcodes off, so water should do the trick.
If everything else looks normal, the next step would be to put the cassette
back on and try to insert/eject some samples, and watch from above so you
can see what might be failing.
Cheers,Mike

Make sure to check your air pressures. I think you need 5 bar at the
console and it's adjustable on the back of the changer to get a good ejection.
Have you powered down and removed the the changer, restart Topspin and try
a simple ej? You should be able to get the sample out this way.
You can even power down the changer by unplugging power to the changer.
Restart and adapt the changer. Restart TopSpin and see if you can issue
sx ej and sx ij a sample.
One of our changers must have a sample in the magnet prior to adapting the
changer. We then have to sx ej into the changer. It's like you
have to prove the bore is clear otherwise, we get errors.
Good luck.

Hi everyone,
we faced an issue with our old SampleXpress: it was running in the automation
mode and from one sample to the other it did not eject the sample anymore and
shows the error "117.310.251 Eject Failed - The sample release could not be
activated" (see screenshot).
There is still the sample inside and when doing "cf" and changing the sample
exchange to BSMS I can still insert and eject a sample - only when changing
back in cf to the sample exchanger it still does not work (also not afte=
r the classic restarting/booting of all the related devices). When trying to
eject, it only moves the grabber arm back and forth and it seems it waits
for the gas push, but there is none. I thought about a dirty sensor etc.
and tried to clean it carefully, but with no success.
Bruker hasn't been a big help either so far.
Has anyone of you faced similar problems and has an idea?
All the best
Julian
