Penghui was describing a VFS, not PTS setup… Otherwise yes, in PTS synthesizers one common point of failure is the dual 10.000 uF caps in the power supply which dry up. VFS „Varian Frequency Synthesizer“ is a different beast - here it’s often the SMD amplifier chips which fail.
