Hi Philipp,

We have been dealing with upward and/or downward motion errors on our BACs
on-and-off for nearly a year. I'm probably jinxing myself by saying this,
but I think I have finally figured out how to address this issue with help
from the AMMRL (and Tim Claridge, in particular). I would recommend
removing the arm (piston) of the BACs. Unscrew the four allen bolts on the
top and bottom. There is a blue rubber-like conductive ring in a track
inside the top and bottom. Fish these out and gently clean them and
the track with isopropanol. These rings are conductive and are compressed
upon completion of the upward or downward motion. Presumably trace amounts
of oil/grease from the house compressed air line and/or dirt/dust from the
air eventually builds up on these rings, which interrupts the electrical
signal that tells the BACs the arm is up or down.

Good luck,

Justin
