Since AlmaLinux 9 has some compatibility issues with the software I need to
run, I installed CentOS 7 on an HP Z420 workstation. With that older system,
both TopSpin 3.6 and IBS run normally.
Therefore, I will keep the AlmaLinux 9 computer as a backup system for all
NEO consoles.
The package tk.x86_64 was already installed, but installing TopSpin 4.4.1 gives
the following error:

*** Fatal error ***
can't find package Tk

we have not validated TOpspin 3.6 with Alma 9. We did do this with Topspin
3.8. This is the current version for AV III and HD spectrometers
We do recommend XCFE as desktop environments
