We have an Avance Neo 600 NMR running TopSpin 4.1.4. We switch between
probes on this system and recently when we switched from a solids probe to a
liquids probe, we lost ability to view a wobble curve (we just see noise).
The symptom are as follows. With a BBO probe installed and routing through
a HPPR2 XBB19F 2HP slice, we can only see noise when we wobble 13C (or any other
X nucleus), however we can acquire a 13C spectrum. If we switch the cable
from the probe to the preamp such that the signal goes through a HPPR/2 13C module
and adjust the routing in the software (edprobe & edasp), we can view a wobble
trace but can’t obtain a 13C spectrum. As part of this switching
process I’ve rebooted the spectrometer, run cf, run expinstall, power
cycled the slices by logging into the blade epu and using the pdu. I’ve
noticed that when I use expinstall some parameter sets aren’t installed
(e.g. C13CPD). There are no errors reported in the output from cf, nor that
I see from expinstall. The proton channel works fine. Our hypothesis
is there is a file that is missing or is corrupted and this was possibly due to
expinstall. Without resorting to upgrading to a new installation of TopSpin or
backtracking to a several month old nmrsaved version, what files could be missing
or possible corrupt to cause this behavior?
