We are having issues with sample eject and sample down detection on our
60 position SampleXpress on a 600 MHz Ultrashield magnet with a AVIII spectrometer.
The two biggest issues: (1) Topspin 3.6.5 does not detect a sample down even
when a sample is in the magnet/probe and the SampleXpress detects a sample
down and (2) sample eject can fail intermittently as well as physically 'lock'
the spinner in the slot on the cassette. This happened after re-installing
the SampleXpress (and cryoprobe) after removing and cleaning the BST (it was
dirty as was the sensor). We have also added a high pressure N2 tank to
ensure proper source pressures.
A couple things we have tried:
* Power cycling the SampleXpress will bring operation back for 1 or
a few successful 'sx' commands but will eventually fail.
* All tubing is connected and pressures within normal ranges
* Sample eject adjust on the SampleXpress has been calibrated multiple times
* In the service mode, different voltage thresholds have been tried as well
as 'autocalibrate' with no improvement
* Icon can work for hours despite TS not indicating sample down. Within
12-ish hours there will be a sample eject error
* 'cf' has been run, settings within 'ha' have been confirmed.
* AND the system works correctly with a different SampleXpress, borrowed
from another spectrometer.
Of course the last point seems to be the key piece of evidence! We have wondered
if the cause is a mistake we made re-installing the SampleXpress. Using the second
SampleXpress seems to indicate we are at least on the right track and does not
indicate errors on installation.

Before calling in a service engineer and possibly swapping components/boards on
the malfunctioning SampleXpress, any similar experiences with possible solutions?
