Re: [AMMRL] Lock drop and 2H channel error #Troubleshooting

I would second the idea to check all (five) BSMS cooling fans - overheating
boards and/or power supplies can do all kinds of strange things.

I usually remove the cooling duct from the backside of the BSMS unit and reach
in (OK, my arms are fairly thin - maybe ask a skinny colleague…) to
feel whether each fan is actually working. Also listen for strange noises.

If the last fan replacement was five years ago or more you could consider
replacing them regardless - but you'll need to take out the entire BSMS card
cage to do so. In BSMS/2 fairly standard 120x120x25 mm 12 V fans will do -
but don't go for low-power/low-noise "PC mainboard" style fans - they don't
push enough air. 5-10 W 2-pin fans should do (no need for 3-pin like for
the AQS unit where the the state of the fans can be checked in "ha").

Cheers
Bert
