It goes as:
During the very early days of supercon NMR w/ cryogens
there was an NMR lab with a
most likely homemade unit,
probably not a commercial device.
The scientists walked into the NMR lab that morning,
looked at each other in puzzlement
and said to each other in unison:
“Where is the bloody NMR magnet???”
Then they looked past the empty space and up at the gaping hole in the ceiling!
“Oh – it must have quenched…”
