Though it never happened in that sequence, I did encounter “RawCheck- no signal at all”
In the rare cases that I’ve seen it, something went wrong with the gradient control.

First check if there are any errors in the console – that might provide a handle as to the issue.
Then do HA and call up the BSMS to see if any errors or weird stuff there.

Sometimes just (locking and) running a few scans in a grad COSY fixes it – if you try that, does the lock signal do as expected?

Otherwise, the fix that I’ve used is to shut down (not restart) computer, console,
then start up computer and when logged in, startup console and components in the recommended sequence.
If you have a GREAT gradient amp, turn on in the proper sequence or it may not work.
(I have systems with & without) (GREAT is a separate rack device; not just a board on the BSMS rack)

Alternatively, quit Topspin and power cycle the BSMS.
Always wait about a minute before turning the BSMS on again. Power off/on can pop something.

Then I do an edprobe (just open and close to make it remember what probe is in there)
and edte and set values to restore the sample temperature control parameters.

Then I check with a grad COSY and it’s usually okay.

Cheers

George

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [AMMRL] Top Shim error while attempting 1D calibration

Hi All,
I have a question about Bruker's Topshim application.
On a 300 MHz AVIII console, I can successfully 3D shim using the sucrose sample
as the manual describes. The display on the lock changes as expected during the
calibrations and it successfully completes the task.
Once 3D has completed, I've attempted to calibrate with the 1D option for ICON
automation etc.
Attempting to run with a deuterated doped d2o or the sucrose sample as well,
I get the following error;
RawCheck- no signal at all
I've tried 1D H1 and H2 calibrations and I get the same error.
Has anyone encountered this error and what was required to fix it?

Thank you,
Tom
