John - like Peter, we also use the Bruker supplied getpars and savepars au
programs. By the way, parameters other than P1 can optionally also be carried
forward.  If you wanted to be able to turn this on or off manually, I
suppose you could dedicate one of the rarely used CNST variables (0 = Off 1=ON)
or the USERAX fields for this purpose.  However, regardless of the solution,
there is no escaping (as far as I know) having to modify your AUNM programs to
make the call, conditional or not, to getpars and savepars.
