disappearing directories

Anyone ever experience the following?

Ultra 10, Solaris 2.6, latest patch cluster

Recently created directories are not visible with any ls command either at
console, terminal, telnet session or ftp session. The filesystem is only
83% full (/export/home - slice 7).

You can see them with CDE's file manager and you can see them in VNMR. You
can cd into and out and when you're in one of these invisible directories
(pwd reports correctly), you can "ls -al" and see "drwxrwxr-x" as
permissions for "."

I just rebooted and fsck did a bunch of work, but the odd behavior is still
there.

By the way, Marc ter Horst and I have not made completely satisfactory
progress on /vnmr/bin/makeuser malfunctions. We still have to doctor /etc -
passwd, shadow, and group and manually create /export/home/user before we
get a functional nmr account out of makeuser. I did get my CDE screenlock
back when I installed the latest 2.6 patch cluster.
