All,
We have an opening in Groton, CT as follows:
<<...OLE_Obj...>>
NMR RESEARCH SCIENTIST
Few health care companies can point to a legacy of achievement more
impressive than Pfizer's ...or look ahead to a future whose potential is as
promising. Pfizer is committed to setting the highest standards of quality
in products, service and expertise.
An opening is available for an NMR Research Scientist in the Pharmaceutical
Sciences division of Pfizer Global Research and Development in Groton, CT.
The Pharmaceutical Sciences NMR Resource Group supports all areas of drug
development. It is responsible for the structural characterization of drug
candidates, excipients, degradation products and impurities via NMR. The
group interacts with other technology and project groups within
Pharmaceutical Sciences and throughout Pfizer. The lab is equipped with 500
and 600 MHz NMR spectrometers with LC-NMR, gradients, micro- and
submicro-sample capabilities. In addition to extensive liquids NMR
capabilities, the lab is equipped with a 500 MHz solids NMR spectrometer.
Our group also supports an open access lab equipped with 300 MHz and 400 MHz
NMR spectrometers with gradients. Numerous additional NMR spectrometers are
also available on campus. As an NMR Research Scientist, you will: 1)
Elucidate structures and solve scientific questions for small molecules of
pharmaceutical interest using multidimensional liquids NMR and LC-NMR; 2)
Investigate and implement novel experiments and technologies; 3) Supervise
direct reports; 4) Communicate routinely with chemists throughout
Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry or
equivalent, and a minimum of two years of LC-NMR and multidimensional
liquids NMR experience. The position will be heavily focussed on LC-NMR, so
chromatographic experience is beneficial. Strong communication skills and a
demonstrated ability to carry out research independently are essential.
This position provides the opportunity for a motivated individual to
contribute in a stimulating professional environment. Pfizer Global
Research and Development offers an excellent salary/benefits package plus an
attractive Connecticut shoreline location. Pfizer was recently ranked by
FortuneTM as one of the top 100 companies to work for, ranking first in the
pharmaceutical industry.
