New Mail Flag missing ...

Dear all,

Since I changed the AMMRL mail system around to allow me to =
moderate/filter the traffic, some have noticed that the messages no =
longer are received as "new" by some mail programs. I use Microsoft =
Outlook, and it doesn't have any problems, but apparently Eudora and =
Netscape Mail don't recognize the messages as new.

The reason for this is that the mail to ammrl@wwitch.unl.edu is sent to =
a temporary "holding" address, and after I see that the messages is =
valid, I pipe it back through sendmail to the entire group. It was =
tricky enough to figure out how to retain the "From:" portion so that =
replies go to the original sender (and not to the temporary, holding =
address). I have yet to figure out how to put the "new" flag back in =
place.

Sorry if this is inconveniencing some of you. If I have any major =
revelations, I'll fix it.

Cheers,

Rich Shoemaker
