Hi Brian,
Roughing pump should be fine, no need for a turbo.
The biggest QOL improvement comes from attaching a vacuum gauge. Indispensable
for knowing achievable end point, measuring vacuum progress, and re-testing
for softening. Unfortunately they run upwards of $800. I'd check with coworkers
before buying new; any synthetic lab doing schlenk work would have several in use.
Kind regards,
Luke

> Subject: [AMMRL] vacuum attachment for He transfer line
I have a He transfer line that has softened and needs to be pumped down. It's
from a 2005 ish Bruker AVII 300 MHz instrument and the vacuum connector piece
cannot be found (see attached photo). Does anyone know where I can find one?
Also, will a rough pump be enough, in general?
Thanks
Brian
