Hi,
one complete different idea. If you measure the lineshape sample, do you see
rather strong sidebands? About 5 ... 10 times larger compared to the carbon-13
satellites? 20 ... 50 Hz?
This would be thermoacoustic vibrations, which increase the helium consumption
by a factor of 3 ... 5. Not very common, but easy to check.

Hello Everyone,
I hope all are well on your side. We have a 500MHz Oxford 22-year-old magnet
that is leaking LHe. Picture attach. The normal LHe boil-off is 5 cc/h, and
the average loss is 0.43%, about 23 mL/h. LHe fill is every 90-100 days. It
uses about 45-50L the most. We've lost LHe this week 4x higher than normal.
You will see bubbles around the base, by the transfer port, by the little "black"
seal. If you know of anyone who repair magnet, please let me know. In the
meantime, I would appreciate any recommendations on what I should do to minimize
the loss.
