Has anyone on here tried to get Topspin to work on a linux system where users
are authenticated by central authority (i.e. they do not exist in /etc/passwd)?
We are attempting to set up 3.7.0 for processing and spectrum inspection on a
Red Hat system that has our corporate configuration authenticating through an
SSO. There were, of course, a variety of hiccups in the installation but both
TopSpin and CM seem to have been successfully installed. However, Topspin will
not start (does not even reach the CM authentication stage) and notes that this
may be because of an nscd implementation. Additionally, during installation,
the username of the person installing the software was not an option to be
selected as the NMR super user.
This all suggests to me that Topspin needs a local user to run. Has anyone
run into this problem before and if so how did they hack around it?
