NMR SPECTROSCOPIST

The Pharma Sector of Monsanto Life Sciences (Searle) has an opening in
the Chicago area for an NMR spectroscopist to join a team of NMR
professionals responsible for supporting drug Discovery and
Development. The NMR team maintains and operates both full service
and open access NMR laboratories equipped with a variety of high
resolution spectrometers, providing routine analyses, as well as
designing and performing experiments for the solution of special
problems, and investigating new technology. LCNMR will be
implemented at 600 MHz in early 1998.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D in chemistry and a strong
theoretical and experimental background in 1D and 2D NMR. Good
problem solving and communication skills and the ability to work in a
team environment are musts. Electronics, HPLC, and UNIX skills are
definite pluses.
