Dear all,
Just a couple of comments,
Not every instrument needs to run off nitrogen, lower field systems can run
just as well using air.
Nitrogen gas separators using compressed air are surely a better way to go
when the house nitrogen is down.

Do you spin samples? Years ago, in another building, we didn't have dependable
house nitrogen, so we changed samples with N2 from a cylinder. If we spun the
sample we'd use up a cylinder in an overnight, though; my chairman didn't like
that, so we learned to shim well enough we didn't need to spin.
