Has anyone run into this problem before? We have seen both the PS204 and
PS205 power supply fuses blow out on our Inova 800 console. The first fuse to
go was the PS205 1 amp fuse. After replacing this fuse, it has been stable
so far but now the PS204 fuse has started to blow out. We changed this fuse
for a 2 amp (we didn't have the required 1.5 amp fuse) and it still blew out
after a couple of hours. I should note that these fuses are only partially
opening. Both of these power supplies produce the expected dc voltages with
no ac ripple after changing the fuses. These power supplies are both on the
RF cage so we are afraid that a RF board is failing in a manner that overdraws
the powersupply.
Has anyone ever debugged a situation like this? I am afraid that we will
have to pull single RF boards one at a time until the PS204 fuse no longer blows
after several hours. Do all of the RF boards use the 5 vdc supply? Also we have
had this problem with the 10 vdc power supply. It would be great if we could
limit this issue to only RF boards that use both 5 and 10 vdc. Thanks in
advance for any advice.
