This is actually from my (former) company. A coworker of mine printed it up
as an in-joke with our technician, though he never bothered to explain why.
In response, over Christmas last year, I extracted banana bread using both
CDCl3 and water and analyzed both fractions on the spectrometer. Nothing
interesting, unfortunately -the spectrum was almost entirely sugar….

It does not say what kind of spectrometer. We have done imaging and spectroscopy
on many foods here (UC Davis) over the years. I will note that the chocolate chips
in chocolate chip cookies have a really short T2 and thus appear dark on images…..
