Hi Gopal,
I used to swap between NMR shim stack and microimaging stack. As Bob mentioned,
I always turned off the BSMS, swapped the cable, loaded the correct shimfile and
finally turned on the BSMS.
This may sound trivial. I always gave a visual inspection of those male pins in
the connector before I made any connections.
Good luck.

Thank You Bob for your email.
Yes, I had tried reconnecting cables couple of time with the BSMS off and then
rebooted to see if the HW mismatch resolves. It didn't help.
I manually loaded what seems to be the used boss matrix file and it loads without
parsing error, but then it reverts only to have no boss file loaded.
Reading old shim file on the topspin window doesn't give error, but is not
populating the shims with any value. In fact, they don't even show up on
the bsms display.
I can access through the web interface and can see that all 34 shims are still 0.
Still figuring out. Hope there is not something silly I am missing.

Hello Gopal,
Because you had to disconnect and reconnect the shim cables, I suspect that
the BSMS controller simply needs to properly and fully reboot.
I presume that you have already tried to power cycle the BSMS, and that didn't
get you anywhere?
There is a chance that just maybe one of the cables is not quite properly c=
onnected.
Try the following:
* Turn off the BSMS rack.
* Check that both shim cables are properly and fully connected to the shims.
* Once you have confirmed that the cables are secure, power on the BSMS rack.
* Watch the BSMS rack as it boots up.
* You will see some RED leds, but after a while most of those should turn green.
* Focus especially on the SCB boards. And RED LEDs on the Shim Control Boards?
If everything "looks" okay after you have done the power cycle, I know that
with some older consoles you still needed to "wake up" the BSMS. The way
I did that was to read in a shimfile.
What happens when you try to read a shimfile? This may generate a popup message,
saying that it is rebooting or something.
After it successfully reads the shimfile, you should be back in business.
If it still is showing the error message, then you might have some bigger issues.
Good luck,
Bob.
