Check the belt on the B-ACS. A long time ago, I had similar problems with my
B-ACS120. The belt stretches over time and needs to be tightened. Once tightened,
you need to go through a position calibration.

Hello,
We have recently been suffering from an error on our AVANCE II system equipped
with a B-ACS 60 and with black “sample down unit” at the top of BST.
ERROR: "15 SHIM SYSTEM NOT EMPTY”
This error pops up occasionally when going to insert the next sample. Completed
sample is removed from BST and placed in carousel. Carousel moves to next
tube and the arm obtains the next tube and moves it over and down into BST.
However, before the pincers open, the error occasionally occurs. No obvious
rhyme or reason that I can tell.
I have been present when it fails and the “sample down” LED on the sample o
down unit does not come on before the error.
I suspect one of two sensors, the sample down unit itself and/or one of the
various cables may be at fault.
Question 1) Have others had similar issues in the past? If so, any hints on
which part(s) to try test first?
Question 2) Have people removed the Sample down unit altogether (living dangerously…)?
I tried and ICON was unhappy (never registered as having loaded and would not move on).
Did I perhaps miss an option in ICON? Need to uninstall Firmware (update of firmware
mentioned in sample down unit install manual)?
