Hello - as part of a recent installation of a Neo-400, we received a nice LN2
refill kit from Bruker (Z165788). It contains a braided SS line and on
the magnet side there is a fill adaptor (a hood that goes over the magnet LN2
fil turret). Inside the adaptor you insert a white clamping sleeve of the
proper diameter. The kit comes with 20, 18.5, and 13 mm sleeves which the
instructions say are for the magnet, BSNL and the prodigy dewar, respectively.
I have been using this refill kit without a problem on our Ascend magnet with
the 20 mm sleeve. However, we also have a Prodigy dewar and an older
500 magnet with LN2 turrets that have a 13 mm OD (D222/54 cryostat). In trying
to use this kit for both of these fills, I have had absolutely no luck creating
a leak-proof seal with the 13 mm clamping sleeve.
I fear Im overlooking something silly. If anyone is using this refill kit for
their Prodigy dewar fills or a magnet with 13 mm turrets, I'd love to hear from
you as to what's essential for a proper seal!
