We have 2 automated 400's. If we assume the 3 hours per week that Walter
mentioned (here that is 1 hr for N2 fills and 2 hour training sessions a week)
and all FULL University Holidays I get about 8316 hours per year. With this
both of these are 59% usage. My next system is at 45% and that is a cold probe
with automation. Our users have access 24/7 to the facility so they do work
during most holidays but around winter break it really drops for those 2-3 weeks
so one could make an argument for lowering the 8316 hours per year. All in
how or what you want the % to say I guess.
We also have a large user base and when one of these 2 400's was down for 3
week because of a board failure the other system was 100% usage (literally
never stopped). When I say large user base we have ~300 registered users at
any time but probably 130-150 actively using the systems in a given period.
