Hi Ken,

‘Heavy use’ for an automation instrument will depend on the
queue length that you are willing to tolerate. For our 24/7/365 instruments
with 98% routine uptime (down 3 hours each week for maintenance), something
in the 50-60% (85-100 hours of use each week) would be considered heavy use,
where we expect less than 1 hour maximum queues during the day and less than
3 hour maximum queues overnight/weekend. For us, more than that makes the
queue times too long.
