Re: [AMMRL] Control of nmrsu access in IconNMR

Hello Andy,

This is worrisome.

Here are my thoughts:
The account "nmrsu" is actually a computer account, not a psuedo-account
created in IconNMR using the "additional users" feature in the IconNMR
Configuration.  Therefore, the password associated with the account
nmrsu should be the same as you would use when logging in to the
workstation as user = nmrsu.

If you are able to login to the nmrsu account in IconNMR without a
password, that implies that there is no password associated with that account.
Can you check that?  Close TopSpin and logout of the workstation. Then
login as user: nmrsu.
If there is indeed no password required to login as nmrsu, then I
suggest that you create a password immediately.
If, however, there is already a password associated with the account
nmrsu, then I don't know why you were able to login as nmrsu in IconNMR
without a password.  That seems strange to me.

NOTE:  When TopSpin asks you for a password when you run commands like
"cf" or "edprosol", it is not asking for the nmrsu password, but rather
the "NMR Administrative Password."    This is purely a software related
password that was created when the software was installed, and is not
associated with a specific workstation account.

I hope this helps.

Bob.
