Dear Andre,
did you check for phosphorus, that could be protons directly attached to 31P,
hence the large J coupling ? A 31P and a 1H-31P correlation could clear that.
Just a guess ….

We are doing a large project where we are using NMR alongside MS to discover
unexpected discharges into the environment.
We have these very weird large signals in 1H NMR. They are quite strong even
in the unconcentrated effluent. I just cannot work out what they may be. They
are exclusive to effluents from the electroplating industry and appear in
some (but not all) discharges.
