Hi Andre,
The first suspects are 13C-19F fragments. 500+ Hz coupling is kind of large,
but I remember seeing coupling of around 450 Hz. The simple way to check it
is to run a quick 19F spectrum and look for 13C satellites with the same
splitting. I don't see in your list any spin ½ metal that can give
such splitting.
Good luck,
Alex

> Subject: [AMMRL] Help with Mysterious Signals
Hi Ammrl,
Sorry to bother you all. I am hoping to draw on your extensive experience. =
We are doing a large project where we are using NMR alongside MS to discover
unexpected discharges into the environment.
We have these very weird large signals in 1H NMR. They are quite strong even
in the unconcentrated effluent. I just cannot work out what they may be.
They are exclusive to effluents from the electroplating industry and appear
in some (but not all) discharges.
I have attached, a sheet of what we know. I am hoping someone somewhere may
have seen something like this before and can point us the right direction ?
Thanks so so much for your time, Cheers, Andre
