Re: [AMMRL] Topspin3.7 issues

Hi Stu,

I found a couple issues with Alma and Topspin but now it all works great. For
IPSO based systems like we have (AVIIIs), the tftp process needs to be enabled
or started or the IPSO won’t boot. By default it is not enabled. A
second issue is that the sticky bit on the /tmp directory gets reset on boot
which causes a permission problem with Topshim if you change linux users. One
needs to unset the sticky bit on boot. I put a command in the cron to do so.
I did see your error about CPR listener at one point but I believe a reboot
solved the issue but it might have been on one of my failed attempts which
caused me to start over from scratch. Sorry I can’t help. Finally,
Bruker recommends installing Codemeter 8 from the codemeter website. But one
should install Codemeter 7 from the Topspin 3.7.0 installation package first
and then upgrade to Codemeter 8 runtime. There was a library package that is
installed by the Bruker installer that is necessary.

Hope this helps people.

John
