Before some of the wizards weigh in with unique solutions, I will just
do a sanity check with the following :
- Did you run the 'hppr' shell level tool and then do a '2.
Check/Download HPPR' ? In our case, any kind of voltage fluctuation used
to cause the downloaded firmware to be garbled though the lights will be
lit green, where they are expected to be.
- The communication error will certainly be one of the symptoms of the
firmware being corrupt.
- I will mention this about RX22 flashing red. When you do a 'gs' or
'wobb' command, the RX22 will flash red. Way back when I took the AVance
maintenance course, they mentioned about this gotcha and the unfortunate
choice of repurposing this LED for 'wobb' operation !
- Does your 'wobb' look OK ? If you don't get an RG value of the order
of 50 to 100, then, check if you get the same problem at two different
frequencies i.e. 1H and some X nucleus such as 13C. If you see noisy
wobb output without the tell tale 'V' curve, then it is not one of your
slices but the detection part and cover module. A HPPR download should
help.
- If you 'wobb' is passing, then most of the HPPR is vindicated. Also,
if lock works as expected, then that is further certification that HPPR is
firing on (mostly) all cylinders ! (I am saying mostly, because, I have
been living with two Avance I units with 2H slices that are not upto par
but they still work fine for locking purposes; that's a long story)
- I think one can move to the console after that. If you suspect
RX22, then you can start with the RG you end up by running 'rga' for a
water sample. Should be pretty low, somewhere around 10.
