Hi Quincy,

The hexaaquoion, Al(H2O)6+3 with shift at 0 ppm, is used as 27Al chemical
shift reference (ref. Akitt, J. W. Ann. Rep. NMR Spectroscopy. 1972,,
Vol. 5A, pp. 465. It gives a very narrow peak in most aqueous aluminium
salt solution.
