This has been submitted as a ticket internally but I don't have any idea if
there's a timeline for it to be fixed. It's been going on for a couple o
f months now but there's not a lot of information that I can see in the
bug report.
For what it's worth, it appears to be due to the codemeter website being an
http site instead of https. It tries to run something on the computer
and if it were an https site, chrome or Edge could give you the option to
let it run or not. Since it's not an https site, it just doesn't run
and you never get the option to allow it. At least, that's what I
gathered from the bug report. There may also be a ticket open with the
codemeter support people but I don't have access to that information.
You can still use chrome or Edge to install the license manually--there are
a few more steps but it's not super painful. As long as you make sure
to upload the receipt file at the end to avoid future problems. You
can even do that from the spectrometer computer if it's got internet access
and you don't want to install firefox for some reason.
