Hi,
that’s unfortunately a bit complicated cable… it is a male
(usually plugs are female) SMB plug on the BSMS side going into a thick harness
and connects to connector C, bottom left on the AQS FCU board. If lucky you can
extract that pin (after double-checking) with the pin extractor tool you may have in
one of the blue toolkit boxes - at least older ones had one of them.
I have a feeling that cutting off the golden SMB plug and soldering a new one onto the
existing cable is probably the easiest way to repair this… the SMB plug I‘m looking
at is even screwed instead of crimped so you may be able to re-use it.

The cable to our BSMS "scan trigger" port broke. It is on the board
that has the helium level and sample control in the BSMS unit of our Avance
spectrometer. I was wondering if anyone knew where the other end of the cable
went. I was thinking that just replacing the cable might possibly be the easiest fix.
I would appreciate any helpful suggestions.
