*Postdoctoral Position in Solution NMR Spectroscopy of Protein Kinases and
their* *Complexes*
We are seeking a highly motivated NMR Structural Biologist to join our team
focused on the structural and dynamic characterization of protein kinases.
The successful candidate will use solution-state NMR spectroscopy to investigate
protein structure, folding, interactions, and function, contributing to our
understanding of biological mechanisms of these important therapeutic targets.
The position will start in September 2025, though the start date is flexible.
To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter that outlines your
motivation, experience, and includes the contact information for two
references to Prof. G. Veglia at vegli001_at_umn.edu.
Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Chemistry, or a related field
* Strong experience in multidimensional solution-state NMR spectroscopy
* Proficiency in NMR data processing
* Experience with isotopic labeling and protein purification
* Solid understanding of protein structure, dynamics, and function
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with NMR relaxation experiments (acquisition and data analysis).
Familiarity with structure calculation tools (e.g., NMRPipe, CCPNmr, CYANA,
XPLOR-NIH)
Requirements:
Candidates should hold a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Molecular
Biology, or other related fields.
Facilities:
Faculty members at the University of Minnesota have full access to an
exceptional 13,000-square-foot NMR laboratory located in the Mayo Memorial
Building on campus, known as the Minnesota NMR Center (
http://www1.umn.edu/nmr/).
The facility includes:
Solution NMR : Two 600 MHz spectrometers, two 700 MHz spectrometers, one 850 MHz
spectrometer, and one 900 MHz spectrometer. All spectrometers are equipped
with 4-channel consoles and cryogenic probes.
Solid-State NMR : One Agilent DD1 600 and one 700 MHz (54 mm narrow bore diameter)
instruments fully operational and equipped to perform MAS and oriented solid-state
NMR experiments.
