Dear Karl,
I experienced similar problems regularly during summer at my old lab. My
experience is that at around 28°C / 83 F the first boards gave up and
produced errors, though they did not suffer permanent damage and came back
to life once the temperatures were lower. Regardless, I would encourage
you to shut down the spectrometers before this point is reached.
