RE: AMMRL: helium rationing?

This is an interesting trend. Our corporation has switched gas vendors
several times in the past few years, and the liquid helium contracts
have always followed along. The service has followed a downward trend
(dewars shipped and stored improperly, long lead times, poor delivery
estimates, confused customer service reps). I had always presumed that
the increasing number of problems was simply related to the decreasing
amount of money we were willing to pay for service. It is interesting
to note that the problems are commonplace throughout the nation and the
industry.

I agree with the comments concerning Matheson-Trigas.
Beautiful dewars, and correct quantities.

We were asked to switch to Praxair as part of a
systems contract. We got spotty performance with them -
an empty dewar, long lead times, poor delivery estimates,
confused customer service reps.

I tried to re-establish contact with Matheson. Unfortunatley,
they refused our business due to supply concerns. So,
Praxair it is.
