Hi Scott,

the contact surface to the spinner in Bruker systems is at the top of the shim tube -
did you already try to clean that (remove the probe & unscrew the three ling screws
atop the upper part, unscrew the four screws on its magnet mounting flange). FYI, that
surface in Varian machines is at the bottom of the “upper barrel= ” and atop the probe in Jeol machines ;-)

Have you tried to exclude other sources of line broadening yet like PFG (just disconnect the
PFG connector from the probe and re-run the spectrum/check lock)?

I would try cleaning the bore/transfer tube. My guess is there is some gunk built up in there that is intermittently obstructing the sample from fully inserting, but still getting far enough to trigger the sample down sensor and be able to lock.
