We’ve got a contact tracing “form” that everyone has to log into each morning and log out at the end of each day. Actually there are two, one’s beta. The second has you enter rooms even, not just building.
In the event of a confirmed case I’m not sure how far they’ll go, but I’ll bet the form will give an indication who has to be interviewed, what rooms they visited, where’d they go etc.
Once we know about possible crossing paths, all those people go home for 14 days…. We’ve got 4 levels of fill redundancy anticipating isolation restrictions.
In terms of cleaning we’re using 70% isopropanol on all common surfaces once a day.
People sanitize hands and samples at the door to NMR rooms (doors braced open, no knob transfer…and I mean door ) therefore we assume clean. Additionally we wipe down keyboards, spinners, and mice prior to use.
The entire department is masks at all time in common spaces.
I don’t allow gloves in the lab as compliance with replacing is poor, instead hand sanitizer etc.
Good luck.

The implication is that if someone tests positive for COVID-19 only close contacts as defined above with that individual will be informed by the agencies that do the contact tracing. We are looking into making a more conservative definition as to who would be notified from our own contact tracing. (Fortunately, we have yet to have a confirmed case in our workplace.) We are looking into ADA and HIPAA rules as to what we can do in this regard.
