Hi Ken,

Here's another variation. Can't take any credit for the design, it's been
this lab going back a couple generations. This is a two-for-one at the top u
of the dewar. The rubber hose makes a good seal when forced over the threads,
and then push gas enters down along the transfer line exterior. It does away
with collar+jacket and o-rings, and lets you keep the other large ball valve
in reserve as a rapid pressure release. I've found it simple to use and enjoy
having fewer small parts to fret over. A key detail is that it doesn't have
enough grip strength to prevent slippage towards the bottom of the dewar.
Partially closing the ball valve to gently pinch the transfer line completely
solves that hiccup. I had misgivings at first about deforming the metal, but
that won't happen without exerting excessive force.

Kind regards,
Luke

Hi Everyone.

One of the losses in our recent flood was our helium push gas apparatus.
I'd like to get one reassembled asap. Can you please describe your favorite
assembly? I expect there are several variations and ours was a bit cobbled
together, so now is a good time to see if there are better designs.
