Marcus,
Before my facility was moved to a different building, we were using a Quincy
brand oil-free air compressor. It worked exceptionally well, and was made
of cast iron. Even after 5 years of use, it was still humming along quite
nicely, being used 24/7 as a source of air.
I also know of other facilities that had excellent results with the
Ingersoll-Rand compressors.
We had been using an Atlas Copco oil-free compressor made of aluminum all of
those years ago, but the reliability of it wasn't very good, that it would
routinely overheat, and after about four years of use (all maintenance was
properly done), it was all but dead.
That being said, if you're only using it as a backup, then it should be able
to do the job.

> Subject: [AMMRL] Air compressor for 400 HDIII and Prodigy
Hi,
I am looking for an air compressor to provide back up our unreliable building
air compressor. It will provide air for a 400 HDIII with a Prodigy probe .
I need to provide about 140 psi at 7 cfm to the air dryer system in the lab.
We are required to secure 3 competitive quotes. I am looking at the Atlas
Copco oil-less LF and LZ series.
Does anyone have a brand and model they could recommend for this purpose?
